About this Work

This is among the artist’s earliest works on canvas combining painting and digitally-printed photography. It is an original painting combining a gestural underpainting of acrylics and metallic latex glaze with original photographic imagery, which is printed directly onto the painted surface with archival pigment-based inks. The photographs used in this work were taken at the home and studio of Jackson Pollock and Lee Krasner in Springs, NY – they depict Pollock’s studio and backyard. There is a topcoat of liquid polymer resin poured over the surface of the piece. The overprint is unique to this work and is not used in any other pieces. Both the painted surface and overprint extend around the edges of the stretchers.
