About this Work

This piece, which was featured in the WIRED article “If Picasso had a MacBook Pro” by Kendra Vaculin, is a singular work on paper combining hand-painted red sumi ink brushwork with a vector-based digital drawing. The digitally-drawn forms are printed directly onto the painted surface with archival pigment-based inks. Highlights on the central form are hand-painted in acrylic. The paper used is Kinwashi, a handmade Japanese hemp paper, whose name means ‘golden fibers’.
